CCOS is able to preserve your important bacterial and yeast strains by freeze-drying. Lyophilisation is a convenient method for long-term storage of strains over several years.

Lyophilisation is particularly interesting for:

  • Ultra long-term storage of strains at plus 4°C
  • Preservation of starter cultures as working cell bank
  • Preservation of process specific biocontaminants
  • Economic shipping of strains around the world

CCOS freeze-dries cultures in glass ampoules and seals them under vacuum. The quality control includes the determination of recovery rates after freeze-drying. Cultures with a survival rate lower than our defined quality control parameters are discarded and the process is repeated.
