Antimicrobial susceptibility testing

ISO 10932 MIC antibiotic test of bacteria strain ISO 10932 MIC antibiotic test of bacteria strain

CCOS has established antbiotic resistance testing according to ISO 10932 for its own collection of bifidobacteria and lactic acid bacteria.

According to the European Food Safetey Authority (EFSA), cultures used as dairy starter cultures and probiotics should be tested for the absence of transmissible antibiotic resistance traits. The broth microdilution method is used to quantitatively determine the antibiotic resistance phenotype of such a culture by measuring the minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) of selected antimicrobial agents.

CCOS offers you the testing of your cultures for resistance against the antibiotic panel recommended by the EFSA accoding to the ISO 10932 standard. CCOS always checks the test with internal control strains for more accuracy of the results.
