Brief history of the Culture Collection

The CCOS was founded in 2010 as the national centre for culture collection in Switzerland. It is an independent company and cooperates closely with the Department of Life Sciences & Facility Management of the Zurich University of Applied Sciences, and with the Federal Office for the Environment in Berne.

2018 G.Dasen takes over as CEO of CCOS
2017 CCOS acquires the status of International Depositary Authority (IDA) under the Budapest Treaty
2016 CCOS gets a new curator for the collection: C. Kunkel
2015 S. Landert starts as new CEO of CCOS
2014 CCOS gets new laboratories at the Einsiedlerstrasse 34
2013 CCOS becomes a member of the European Culture Collections' Organisation (ECCO)
2012 CCOS is certified according to ISO 9001:2008
2012 CCOS becomes a member of the Swiss Biotechnology Association (SBA)
2010 Foundation as a public limited company (AG)
2009 CCOS becomes a member of the World Federation for Culture Collections (WFCC)
2009 Foundation of the CCOS as a national culture collection, supported by external grants (CTI project 9922.1 PFLS-LS)
